Founder2be Partners With Startup Weekend And YourStory
Founder2be, a start-up that built a network that helps entrepreneurial-minded people find each other, has recently added some mighty force from overseas to its Global Alliance Program. First came the announcement of Startup Weekend joinning the network and this week Founder2be announced Your Story, the biggest online platform that shares stories about entrepreneurship in Indian, joining the Alliance Program. The program includes light-weight cooperation and promotion on both sides: Founder2be can help entrepreneurs find the team for their start-up and allied partners can further support the team to implement and develop their business. Founder2be's goal is to have at least one partner on all continents by the end of this year.
Since their launch at the end of January this year, their userbase has been growing with about 100 new sign-ups per week. Most of the users look for team members but about 10% share their own start-up ideas. Oliver Bremer, founder and CEO, also noticed that surprisingly many users are willing to invest various amounts of money into start-up ideas. The exact number has not been disclosed yet but it proves that it's not just sweat equity that people are willing to offer for a good business idea.
Founder2be's website has also become more open and received some tweaks here and there. Profiles and ideas can be easily shared in other social media, search function has become more intuitive, suggestions of the people you might be interested in have been added together with some back-end updates.
Founder2be's growth still comes mostly from the word of mouth. Starting with a small network of friends, the website is slowly being shared among a growing number of people. Adding partners like the Startup Weekend and Your Story to its network is an important step. Other partners include HUB Helsinki, LaunchSpace, Aalto Venture Garage, The Startup Group (Munich) and a number of student entrepreneurship societies from Finland and Denmark. Attracting their network of followers and readers can help Founder2be grow quite fast.
'User feedback so far has been from very positive to 'your website sucks' and anything inbetween', shared Oliver. Excited followers is a great sign but so are the negative comments: they help your company improve and show that people care, which is ultimately what any business should aim for.
