Movenote Lets You Record And Share Presentations

Movenote is a Helsinki-based cloud presentation service for when you can't give that presentation in person. The service allows you to record a video of yourself from your webcam while slides are show next to your video, and then save it for later. The service is flexible, and allows you to use pictures, PDF, PPT, doc, Excel, and other formats for your slides.

When you create a video on Movenote, it is stored in your own archive. Movenote gives a link for your presentation and you can send the link by email or embed it wherever you like. It's a handy service so you don't need to share a heavy file with someone. After you've sent a link out, you can view statistics on how many people have viewed your presentation, or continue to edit the file.

Movenote doesn't limit you to only straight business presentations. They also suggest you can use Movenote for presenting your photos, presenting your products, sales or company management, sending out invitations, and applying for a job.

I've used Movenote a couple times in the past, and it is a nice service for when you want to show something more personal than a couple slides. Embedding and sharing your presentation is easy, and the recording service has worked well most of the time. I can likely blame the times it has not worked on my own personal error, but it's the worst feeling in the world when you finally nail a presentation and you realize it didn't save right. But hey, the best part about Movenote is that it's free, so keep it in mind the next time a service like this would be useful to you.

Can imagine that this will be of great value to allot of startups.

But i'm curious of the revenue model. Do partners pay or who pays?

Hello Fredi and Greg!

Thank you Greg for the article and Fredi for the question. I was prompted here to answer.

I would like to give an update on couple of things mentioned in the article.

For basic personal use, Movenote is free and continues to be free for those who signed up at the first beta phase which has now ended.
For business users, there is monthly or yearly subscription fee based on the amount of user accounts and desired features.

Signing up is currently per request and we focus on expanding our business customer base, coaching them and improving the service according to their needs.

For the future, we have plans for all the customer sectors and many revenue models, of course.
I will be happy to answer questions here or drop us a message if you are interested. Or if you know someone who might find Movenote useful, let us know and we will create somehow mutually beneficial deal.
