ArcticEvening Copenhagen, Denmark – 31.5.2012

ArcticEvening Copenhagen will take place in Copenhagen at the end of the month. The evening networking event will start at 6pm. We will have a few presentations lined up for you, drinks and snacks (thanks to our venue sponsor Nokia) as well as a great opportunity to do some networking while there!

More information on the event, program and how to sign-up your free ticket - can be found below. Hope to see you in Copenhagen on May 31st!

Program

The doors will open at 6pm. We will have a few different presentations at the event.

We will kick of the show with a presentation by Kristel Verhasselt of X.commerce. Kristel will talk us through the challenges of making money online and how Magento, the company's platform is helping to iron out some of those challenges. Prior to her current position, Kristel worked at Google as part of the startup team in Belgium in 2007 and later transitioned to Industry Manager where she developed and implemented the sales strategy through SEM and Media agencies..

Fireside chat with Tommy Ahlers of Podio (recently acquired by Citrix). We will talk the case through with Tommy and also discuss how it actually went down. The audience will also have a great chance to ask questions.

We expect the event to close at 9pm, but naturally the discussions will flow into the night. Let's find a place afterwards where to have a few drinks and continue networking.

Amazon Web Services
In 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now commonly known as cloud computing. One of the key benefits of cloud computing is the opportunity to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale as a business grows. With the Cloud, businesses no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. Instead, they can instantly spin up hundreds or thousands of servers in minutes and deliver results faster.

The AWS platform has grown rapidly since the launch of the first service and it is now the underlying infrastructure for businesses around the world from start-ups to enterprises to government agencies. AWS has hundreds of thousands of customers in over 190 countries leveraging the services from infrastructure locations in the U.S., Europe, South America, Singapore, and Japan.

Companies around the world using AWS range from smaller, fast-growing companies such as Playfish, Airbnb and Supercell to larger companies such as Netflix, NASA and News International.
