Graduateland Adds More Universities, Charts Nordic Expansion Strategy

This marks the end of our sponsored coverage of Graduateland, which came as a prize for winning the popular vote at our Arctic15 conference. But this won’t be the last you ever hear about them! Their career portal is picking up momentum in Sweden by being implemented in Lund University and Blekinge Technical University. Patrick Lund, the CEO of Graduateland also tells me that it is their ambition is to add over 10 Swedish and more than three Norwegian career portals by the end of 2012.

Patrick Lund, CEO of Graduateland tells me:

“Together with our advisory board, consisting of Bjørn Hafstrøm (former CEO of Speednames and Enalyzer), Jesper Knudsen (investor, serial entrepreneur and Accelerace consultant) and Bjørn Sibbern (President of NASDAQ OMX), we have been discussing our expansion strategy for 2012 and 2013. Focus will be on increasing market shares on the Scandinavian market while keeping a keen eye on which other European markets may present themselves as interesting for our business. Time will show whether it becomes expansion of market coverage or new horizontal services that become the main focus.”

Things are looking good for whatever growth strategy they choose, as they are strongly considering growing on revenues alone, despite several venture funds expressing interest. The company is also in the top three companies chosen for the final of the Connect Denmark’s prize for business in growth.

For those of you who missed our past coverage, Graduateland is Europe’s largest career network for students and recent graduates, bringing together three key stakeholders: students & graduates, universities, and employers. Universities across Europe are offered free, customized plug’n’play career portals – the Graduateland Gateway – which they can implement on their website. Here they can easily provide their students and graduates with a powerful international job search engine with CV tools and other features. Employers are also offered tools to pinpoint and market to exactly the candidates they need, making Graduateland a player that supports the whole ecosystem.
