Saving energy is typically done according to a 3 step plan:
1) Measure energy consumption
2) Analyze the data
3) Implement energy saving solutions
Seluxit provides solutions to all 3 steps, both as products and services.
On the products side the following products are of major interest:
Gateway - A device that connects a building to the Internet for data logging purposes and remote control.
Multi Sensor - A device that can detect motion and measure temperature, humidity and light intensity (LUX) all at the same time while operating on batteries.
Energy meter - A device that can be connected to a power meter, water meter or gas meter.
All of the described devices communicate by means of a wireless standard and this makes retrofitting homes feasible .
On the services side Seluxit has a central server that makes remote control through any PC or mobile phone, connected to the Internet possible. The Server can also log the collected data and even send out alarms in the form of SMS messages or e-mail messages.
The last part of the puzzle forms our end user software. Seluxit has developed software that runs on any mobile phone that can connect to the Internet and has Java support.
Besides the mobile phone application Seluxit has also developed a PC application that helps the user do control and configure her home.This application can also show the logged data in the form of graphs and trends over time.
For all the applications there was very much focus on usability as we feel that this is a major shortcoming of our competitors systems.
Our solutions also support third party solutions such as the "My Home" site of the DEST (Danish Energy Saving Trust "Elsparefonden").
As there currently is no clear winning standard on the home automation market, Seluxit has developed all the systems to support multiple standards in a way so that the end user sees the complete system as one system.
