Rebtel is one of Sweden’s fastest growing innovation companies and turns local calls into international calls through innovative VOIP-technology and local numbers in over 50 countries. Rebtel has around 4.000.000 users worldwide and several percentages of some of the largest calling corridors. Founded in 2006 and backed up by some of the largest venture capital investors Rebtel now intends to expand. Rebtel has its HQ in Stockholm and around 30 employees.
The company now plans to build up a strong application team to provide an even better calling experience for users with smart phones, and to complement mobile calling with desktop clients. With this in mind, we’re looking to recruit an Application Designer who will be responsible for creating the user experience for Rebtel’s application users.
The Job
You’ll be an important part of our new application team, responsible for creating a user experience and user value that makes Rebtel the first choice for application based international calling. As Application UI designer you’ll have one foot in our Product management team and the other foot in the Application developer team. You’ll be the main responsible for the user interfaces and user experience of all mobile and desktop applications developed by Rebtel. You’ll drive the process of UI design, applying user tests as a part of the design process, specify the user flows and screens, and create graphical design based on our graphical profile.
Your Profile
You’re a creative person with a passion for user experience design. You have hands on experience of creating user interfaces for Android and iphone applications and have a basic understanding of developing software for these platforms. Your area of expertise is HCI/ Interaction design and graphical design, and you’re an experienced user of Photoshop and Illustrator. You also have a couple of years of experience in defining and designing user interfaces in general for consumer focused software or web sites and as such you’re used to participating in the whole process of product development.
We’re looking for a person with a talent for creating simple interaction designs for complex functionality, who can produce everything from high level concepts and user flow descriptions to pixel designs. We are a startup with a slim organization and a high pace, so you must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. You’ll have skilled and motivated team members around you and together you’ll be able to create great results.
Though we are a Swedish company, our users are all over the world, and we have team members of many different nationalities. So you must be able to communicate well in English, both written and spoken.
