Fits.me Raises Seven Figures To Expand Their Virtual Fitting Room
Fits.me, the virtual fitting room, has announced it has raised "seven figures" from the Entrepreneurs' Fund, a London-based venture capital fund. The investment will be used to accelerate the delivery of virtual fitting room services, as well as to provide additional sales and marketing resources to fuel Fits.me’s growth. Along with the investment, Fits.me is moving its management to London while engineering, operations, and production will remain in Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia.
Fits.me Announces Fembots
Fits.me, the Estonian company that is building a new way to help online retailers sell clothes, has announced the female shaped robot. The robot, which is used to photograph the merchandise an online retailer is selling, will essentially drive up sales as customers are able to see how different sized clothes fit different sized people.
Innovate!100 List Features Many Nordic And Baltic Startups
Guidewire Group has announced on 3rd of December the Innovate!100 list. The list features, according to the blog post, the 100 most innovative and fastest growing startups from around the world. The participants have been chosen based on the 30 or so Pitch Slam contests which were held on five continents over a duration of 10 months.
Fits.me Launches - eCommerce Sites, Take Notice!
The Estonian Fits.me, Virtual Fitting Room, has launched. Heikki Haldre, the CEO of the company, has been at work with his team on the concept for quite some time, winning pitches in Tallinn and overseas. A few days ago we received an e-mail from Heikki announcing that they've finally launched their service and have done so with a British customer - Hawes and Curtis.
Fits.me, Lumo Research And GigsWiz Make Plugg.eu Finalists
Three Nordic and Baltic companies have made it to the group of finalists in the Plugg.eu Startups Rally 2010. In total, 116 applications were left to the competition and of these the 20 made it to the final. Plugg.eu is a very entrepreneurship focused conference organised in Brussels, Belgium and we're happy to one of their media partners promoting the event. The three companies making it into the final are Estonian Fits.me the two Finnish startups Lumo Research and GigsWiz.
Fits.me Raised A €1.3m Round And Won In Tallinn
I'm writing this on a ferry over from Tallinn to Helsinki coming back from a pitching event we organized in collaboration with Enterprise Estonia as part of the second annual International Technology Law Association conference in Tallinn, Estonia. The pitch competition was held with support from Connect Estonia. I very much enjoyed the conference as it mixed nicely technology law and venture capital finance. There was some interesting comments from a top-of-the-line Nordic and Baltic VC panel, but I'll get into that in another post. Here's about the line up of companies that pitched themselves to the jury.
Based on the application process five startups had made their way into final pitch competition. Here's some thoughts on each of them.
