Future Female is a new Finnish network for likeminded women who work, use or are interested in technology, business and all-things-digital. For me that reads geek girls loud and clear. It's great to see geek girl networks popping up in the Nordic and Baltic scenes. Especially given how many talented ladies there is out there.
Geek Girl Meetup Gathers 100 Women To Talk About Tech
ArcticStartup is joining Geek Girl Meetup as a media partner. Geek Girl Meetup is a Swedish unconference for women, by women, who are interested in technology, web, social media and entrepreneurship. The event takes place October 24-25 in Stockholm and is being organized for the second time despite its short existence. What started as a one day event for 50 participants in March has now turned into two day event with 100 women attending. And there're still ladies on the waiting list!
Finland Is Getting Its Own Diggnation: Digitytöt
Here in the Northern Europe many hard core Web 2.0 developers and entreprneurs follow religiously Diggnation, the famous video show by Kevin Rose (of Digg.com fame and a famous Silicon Valley party kid) and Alex Albrecht.
Now, we're getting our own except that it's pink and pretty. Helene Auramo, CEO of Zipipop, and her friend Sanna are Digitytöt (tranlates into Digitalgirls from Finnish). Auramo is a long time fan of Kevin Rose and have been working on the project for some time now with her new team during the weekends, while running Zipipop during the week.
